Be Kind To One Another

You’ve gotta love Tevo!  As a solo entrepreneur and one who works from home, I’ve made it a policy to watch my two favorite daytime shows (Anderson Cooper and Ellen) at night.  With the magic of Tevo, I can preview, watch or delete  with one click on the remote.  This is so cool, easy and efficient.  Each of the two shows have their set format, however,  I especially enjoy Ellen’s monologue.  It amazes me how she keeps so current and creative, so timely and  spontaneous.  I don’t think there’s ever a subject she can’t handle from croutons made from stale bread, to the annoyance of car horn blowers, to her opinion of The Bachelor – she’s right there with her take, her humor and  comments!  Ellen makes me laugh.  And, of course, I’m not sure which offers more enjoyment – watching Ellen dance or audience participants  shimming and shaking!  In a world filled with painful news, it’s refreshing to sit back, even for just an hour or two and be entertained.

And then, there’s her ending.  While,  I think every show host has his or her own way of ending their segment,  only one comes to mind.  It’s Ellen’s.  Consistently, her last sentence for every episode is:  Be Kind to One Another.  So simple.  So powerful.  So meaningful.  Just be kind.  I love that.  And, I love her reminder.  Hold a door open for the person entering behind you.  Smile.  Express gratitude.  Provide a compliment. Remember birthdays.  Whatever you can do to lighten someone’s load, brighten someone’s day, all it takes is a moment of kindness.  You don’t have to watch Ellen’s show to remember to be kind.  Let this message be your reminder.  Be kind to one another.  Today.  Every day.
